Aosta, Italy! May 16, 2015

Ciao! Today was wonderful! I started off my morning by waking up to the sounds of the people setting up the market beside my hotel room! I stopped a minute to admire the view from above. I could look down to see the people setting up shop or look straight ahead to see the wonderful view of the mountains. I went downstairs to eat breakfast with Dr. Marciano and Mr. Ray. I was not thrilled about the breakfast, but I am the worlds pickiest eater! Thankfully, the Hotel Turin has orange juice! After breakfast, Ray and I went for a stroll through the market to view their products. I browsed for a while before I went and joined my classmates while they ate breakfast. Then, of course, we had to go back to the market so they could have the opportunity to shop! I did not purchase anything, but Dr. Marciano was able to help some of the others bargain for better prices! Afterwards, we went for another stroll through out 'Aosta and visited another church.
We parted ways with the professor at this time and went on our own to explore.

During this time, we had to find different places to take "selfies" at for a scavenger hunt. The city is amazing! Every corner has a beautiful view of the mountains. It almost looks fake because it is that breath taking! We stopped for some pizza at lunch and got us some gelato! After a while, we went back to our hotel to join up with a high school teacher, named Elana, from Italy. She took us on an adventure that amazed me every moment we were there. We went to Sarre, Italy to visit the Sarre Castle.
Sarre Castle
This castle was the home of the royal family that ruled over the entire country of Italy. I was amazing!
King's bed
The castle still had the original furniture that the king and queen sat and slept on. The room that stood out the most to me was the trophy hall. The king had the horns of over 3,000 animals that he had hunted mounted throughout the hallway and room. It was a hunters paradise.

After we left the castle, we went out to eat with Elana. She was the best help! She translated the menu for us and really saved us a lot of time. She has been the sweetest person I have encountered while being in Italy. While at dinner, I was finally able to find something I enjoyed to eat. It definitely was not mama's spaghetti but, it was still good!

We finished dinner and I set out for my first run while being in Italy. I felt really out of place but I understand that I am in a different area and the people may not be use to seeing people run through the area I was in. I finished my run and returned to my hotel room to get a good nights sleep!
